Iraq participates in the Third Summit of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries in Tehran

The President of the Republic of Iraq Fuad Masum, the proposal states producer and exporter of gas prices and the unification of linking a regional pipeline network, including the Gulf states. Masum said in his speech at the Third Summit of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries, which was held in the Iranian capital yesterday, "We propose the unification of gas pricing indicators in order to move away gradually from fluctuations in world oil prices, with the order of priorities of the use of natural gas towards value-added applications, particularly petrochemicals and fertilizers." He added, "We also propose to provide natural gas alternatives in nuclear and renewable energy applications, as well as natural shale gas, with the creation of sophisticated export system and branched regionally through multiple pipe lengths and measurement between the regional producing countries and consumer linking the Gulf and the Caspian Sea and Black and the Mediterranean networks together and from there to countries in the world the other on the basis of common interests through across Iraq because of its convenient geographical location between producing and consuming countries. "
He pointed out that the President of the Republic "Iraq has gas reserves of 131 trillion cubic feet of natural gas with a total reserve of associated gas is about 98 trillion cubic feet." He continued, "The reserve total free gas amounts to about 33 trillion cubic feet and represents 25% of the country's reserves, the proportion of gas, so Iraq is ranked 11 in the world and it is hoped that the advanced ranking we have completed the current Acetkchavth that have been stalled for decades because of wars." He said, "We have two projects with Iran, first across the province of Nineveh has been almost completed and the other with the province of Basra have recently been agreed upon, as well as ongoing talks with Kuwait and Jordan for cooperation in the field of gas while efforts are continuing with all neighboring countries." The President of the Republic that "Iraq is seeking to invest in geographic and economic strategic position in order to attract the producing countries and importing natural gas, Iraq is qualified to be an outlet and a conduit for many countries if it has to take advantage of all proposed studies in this area, which lends to strengthen regional cooperation, which has become a necessity and need for each country, as well as to link the common interests and to achieve stability and social progress and economic and human development of our countries and Hmntguetna countries and the world at large. " He concluded his speech, the president saying that "the development of cooperation and joint action enhances our steps in this direction and preserve our interests and contribute to the consolidation of stability in the global market and feeds our economy in general." It was Mr. Oil Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, accompanied by a high-level delegation from the ministry had participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (GECF) which is the start of operations Saturday. It is reported that the meeting discussed topics that arise on the third Summit of the Forum meeting. The Forum includes both Iran and Russia, Algeria, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, Equatorial Guinea, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar and Venezuela as members Trinidadotobagu and key, while Iraq, the Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Peru participate as an observer in meetings. It is worth mentioning that the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries was established in Tehran in 2011, an intergovernmental organization comprising 11 of the top natural gas producers in the world and who control 67 percent of global natural gas reserves.
