Iraq signs memorandum of understanding with Egypt and Jordan in the fields of petroleum and natural gas



Oil Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and Minister of petroleum and mineral wealth Egyptian Tarek Al Mulla, Jordanian energy and mineral resources Minister Ibrahim Saif in Oman today a memorandum of understanding to boost cooperation in the fields of oil and natural gas among the three countries, in the light of the availability of surplus capacity of crude oil and gas.

Minister of petroleum and mineral resources of the Egyptian Tarek publicly that it had been agreed that the joint areas of cooperation include Jordan and Egypt supply surplus of crude oil and natural gas, as well as to export Iraqi gas to Jordan and Egypt through the Arab gas pipeline, and it was agreed to examine the appropriate mechanism for Iraqi crude oil exports of both Egypt and Jordan, through the implementation of modern pipeline to Aqaba. Oil Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, has held extensive talks with Ministers alkataka in Egypt and Jordan participated in the Egyptian side engineer Khaled Abdel Badie head of Egyptian natural gas holding company {Egas}, and Fouad Rashad head start directors company dawn Jordan, to discuss areas of cooperation in the petroleum activities common to both current and future.
