Cabinet officials retarded stop paying salaries to disclose their financial interests

Iraqi Council of Ministers decided in its weekly meeting on Tuesday to stop paying salaries to staff and officials from the retarded revealed their financial interests.

Information Office of the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said in a statement, said that the Council decided to suspend the employee in charge of the defaulting wages and omission on financial disclosure and allocations and entitlements other while introducing financial disclosure form after 3 months of being informed and be provide disclosure once a year.

According to Iraqi law in force, all are the senior officials in the three presidencies, ministers, members of parliament and general managers in the ministries are committed to disclose their financial interests at the beginning of each year.

This measure is aimed mainly to curb rampant corruption on a large scale in the country circles.

And took the Iraqi judiciary over the last ten days, a series of decisions to prosecute officials, including current and former ministers on charges of financial corruption.

Abadi that the council's office also said authorized by Finance Minister Hoshyar Zebari session to negotiate with the Japanese side on borrowing from the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation and commercial banks to ensure the validity of the institution (hexi) in favor of the Ministry of Electricity.
