    Jaafari called for Finland to open its embassy in Baghdad

    - Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari, Thursday, Finnish counterpart Timo Sweeney to open his country's embassy in Iraq, and as he emphasized that Iraq is ready to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two countries, he urged Finnish companies to work and invest in Iraq.

    Jaafari said in a statement seen by, Alsumaria News, that the recent "met, today, Finnish Foreign Minister Timo Sweeney," noting that "During the meeting, they discussed relations between the two countries and ways of developing them as well as discuss issues of common interest between the two issues."

    The al-Jaafari, according to the statement that "Iraq is looking forward to deepening relations with Finland, and cooperation between the two countries at various levels," pointing out that "help in the international coalition have an impact through the flights, and the role of good advisers."

    Jaafari said that "the Iraqi forces, with all its factions check achievements in their battles against Daash," adding that "in spite of the increasing number of elements Daash from last year, however, the Iraqi armed forces are stronger than them, and achieve victories."

    He said, "Iraq is ready to sign a memorandum of understanding with Finland", calling on the latter to "re-open the Finnish Embassy in Baghdad, he urged Finnish companies to work and invest in Iraq."

    The Finnish Foreign Minister, announced yesterday the first Tuesday (29 September 2015), he will meet with his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim al-Jaafari soon in order to facilitate the return of rejected Iraqi asylum claims.
