Oil Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, Iraq's desire to cooperate with international companies to increase oil production.

The statement pointed out that "During the meeting they discussed issues of common interest between the two issues and to achieve the common interests of the two."

For his part, expressed the Vice President of the French company Total Pascal Carrier company's desire to expand the horizons of cooperation and contribute to the development of the oil industry in Iraq.

The Oil Ministry signed earlier with the French company Total a memorandum of understanding to implement a project for the petrochemical industry in southern Iraq.
The French company Total has won develop Halfaya field in Maysan province within the consortium CNN ABC Chinese companies and Petronas.
