Lagarde urges the Federal Reserve not to rush to raise interest rates

The Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde said the US Federal Reserve should not rush to make a decision to raise interest rates and not to move in this direction only when it is sure that the decision is unlikely to back him in the post.

She drew Lagarde told a news conference that the finance ministers and central bank governors of the Group of Twenty discussed the issue extensively during their meeting in Ankara.

She added, "so what we have said is that the International Monetary Fund believes that it is better to make sure that the data fully confirmed and that there are no doubts both in terms of price stability, or at the level of employment and unemployment before embarking on such a move."
