    Talabani condoles Iraqis due to killing Karawi

    Baghdad (AIN) –The President, Jalal Talabani, offered his sincere condolences due to killing the Commander of the 7th Division, Mohamed al-Karawi, along with several of his colleagues in Rutba area within Anbar province.

    The media office of Talabani reported in a statement received by AIN ''The President offers his sincere condolences to the Iraqi people and Army members due to killing the Commander of the 7th Division, Mohamed al-Karawi, along with several of his colleagues within their heroic operation aim at eliminating terrorism and crime.''

    ''The great sacrifices that the Iraqi people offer are bright spots at the history of Iraqis who are exerting their lives to defeat terrorism and achieve stability of security situation under the rule of Federal Government,'' the statement added.

    A senior delegation of the Ministry of Defense headed towards Anbar province to investigate in killing Karawi and to launch a military operation that target all armed groups in Anbar.

    About the threats of the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant against Kirkuk, Sadr said "We have heard threats of this U.S organization to seize Kirkuk, and we would defend Kirkuk if the government weakened in defending it . "

    Al-Sadr said that "This organization does not represent Sunnis inside and outside Iraq, and our stand against it does not mean to stand against our brothers , but we support them to get rid of terrorism ."

    On the steps of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki against Western demonstrations , Sadr said , " We have heard threats against demonstrations from Maliki ." and I say " this should not be a prelude to a sectarian settling of accounts with the Sunnis , but it must be directed to terrorism only , and this should not be a reason to delay the upcoming legislative elections."

    He added , " I call to refer such matters to the parliament for a vote, before an individual decision, the all may regret it, and partners (if there are any) should be consulted on it."
