    Twas the Night Before RV

    Twas the night before Christmas and all through the chat
    Not an RV was stirring, all were watching for that

    The dinar was hung by the chimney with care
    (very dumb if a fire was burning in there)

    Dinarians nestled all snug in their beds
    While visions of houses and cars filled their heads;

    The queen in her kerchief and poppy in his hat
    Had just settled down for a long winter's nap

    When over in Iraq there arose such a clatter
    Maliki was stalling .. now what was the matter!?!

    Away to the news web I flew like a flash
    Pulled open my translator, cleared my cache

    The news on the eve of new-fallen predictions
    Was full of bull and more contradictions

    We saw it again when the gurusters bellowed
    When Poppy and BGG dismissed it we mellowed.

    Oh WHEN to our wondering eyes would appear
    That life-changing RV—are we the third tier?

    Well a little bit longer, be patient (yet quick)
    You KNOW that it’s coming … this isn’t a trick!

    More rapid than eagles the rumors they came
    And we laughed … and cried … and ignored their claims;

    "Now, guru! now, blogger! now, website and chat!
    On our count we will see it—stick that in your hat!

    To the month and the day! to the day and the hour!
    But most of those claims made my stomach turn sour.

    As rumors that fall before ever they fly,
    Without validation they simply just die

    On up to the chat room the dismayed peeps flew,
    With a huge sack of rumors to ask BGG too.

    And then, in a twinkling, the mods would all say
    That’s the load of horse pucky we hear every day!

    As we counted dinar, and prayed for the mound,
    BGG showed up and hung around.

    He was dressed all in common sense, head to foot,
    And his words made sense, no rumors afoot;

    A bundle of dreams he had put in his pack,
    And he talked of blessings and ways to give back.

    His dreams--how they sparkled! his wishes, oh mercy!
    They were lofty and noble and sweet, like Hershey!

    And Poppy, he challenged us to not be slow
    To think about how we would change lives we know

    The veteran, orphan, homeless and stranger,
    (just like the baby who came in the manger)

    May seem helpless and a bit undeserving,
    With our help it changes—be purposed! Unswerving!

    The blessing is coming … we all know it’s so
    If Iraq will prosper and that country grow

    Explain all the rumors and nod your head,
    It’s coming, it’s coming, there’s nothing to dread;

    Parliament speaks, they must do the work,
    And settle the questions (please return with a perk!)

    Then laying a finger aside of that button,
    The RV will happen … and stopping it? Nuthin!

    Keep praying that we will receive what we need
    To further this blessing and stay clear of greed

    And we’ll hear all exclaim, as we unveil RV,
    "It’s about time Iraq! Helloooo RV!!!!!"
