The Agency quoted the Kuwaiti official Kuna news about Al-Otaibi said “The Kuwaiti delegation in New York with UN Security Council members on a draft resolution presented today is expected to be adopted in the 27 of this month without hindrance. “

And Al-Otaibi said “those issues relate to matters purely humanitarian and not threaten international peace and security at all so there is no justification for placing them under Chapter VII which deals exclusively with the maintenance of international peace and security and to take measures and economic sanctions and authorize military action and this is unlikely to happen with Iraq.”

He noted that “the relations between the two countries now have evolved and we count on the cooperation of Iraq in the humanitarian file acceleration because without the cooperation of Iraq there will be no progress.”

The Kuwaiti official said that “the message sent by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah at the end of last may, the United Nations Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council that included Kuwaiti demands to maintain the specificity and sensitivity of the autonomy of the two files,” stressing that “the draft resolution will reflect this.
