    Parliamentary finance committee hosts representatives of CBI to discuss banking law

    Baghdad (AIN) –The Parliamentary Finance Committee hosted a delegation from the
    Central Bank of Iraq to discuss the current law of banks and the draft of the new law.

    The Parliamentary Committee reported in statement received by AIN ''Member
    of the Parliamentary Finance Committee MP Najiba Najeeb received a delegation from the Central Bank of Iraq and other governmental banks, which included Mustafa Ghalib the director of the legal affairs in the CBI and Majed Mohamed Hassan the director of restructuring the governmental banks as well as Waleed Edi the director of statistics and research department in the CBI.''

    ''The meeting included discussing the items of the banks law no. (94) of 2004 and the amendments that are supposed to be implemented as well as discussing the project of the laws related to banks in addition to banking law draft, which was accomplished by the CBI, and the problems that hinder the work of the governmental banks,'' the statement added.

    The statement pointed out that ''It has been agreed to hold another meeting next week to be attended by representatives of private banks, registrar of companies, Islamic banks and representative of Trade Bank of Iraq.''

    Ahrar bloc not to vote on Budget without distributing oil revenues on Iraqis, says MP

    Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Mohammed Redha al-Khafaji, of al-Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend stated "Our bloc will not vote on the General Budget law draft without including distributing the oil revenues on the Iraqi people."
    Speaking to All Iraqi News Agency (AIN), he said "The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, submitted an objection to the Federal Court to cancel distributing the oil revenues on the Iraqi people where the Federal Court approved this objection.">
    "This objection is wrong because Maliki must consider the interests of the Iraqi people," he added, noting that "This objection is against the Iraqi people."

    Kobler arrives in Mosul to meet demonstrators

    Mosul (AIN) –The UN Secretary General's Special Representative, Martin Kobler, arrived in Mosul province to discuss demands of the demonstrators on Tuesday.
    The Governor of Nineveh, Athil al-Nijaifi, announced postponing Kobler's visit of last Monday due to the bad weather.
    A local official stated "Kobler will meet the representatives of the demonstrators and the local officials to discuss the demonstrations against the government in Mosul."

    Shafaq News / A deputy of the state of law coalition revealed on Tuesday, that Anbar tribes have demanded the return of the army deployment in Fallujah district, because of the return of the armed groups.
    Salman al-Moussawi said for "Shafaq News", that “Anbar tribes had told representatives of the government the need to return the deployment of the Iraqi army in Fallujah district to control the security."
    Al-Moussawi who is a close source to Prime Minister, Nuri al-Maliki added that "tribes also complained from the deployment of the armed groups in Fallujah and surrounding areas," referring to “the video tape that showed masked gunmen in Anbar”.
    He stressed that "the leaders of the army made ​​their decision to withdraw army troops from there and will not retreat from their decision."
    The military authorities in Baghdad decided to withdraw military units from Fallujah to be replaced by federal police, following clashes witnessed by the district last Friday between the army and protesters.
    According to a security source for "Shafaq News", “Fallujah clashes witnessed the death of five people and the injury of more than 60 people, all of the protesters, while two Iraqi soldiers were killed the next day in an insurgent attack on a military checkpoint.
