    Baghdad (AIN) –The Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, called to hold an urgent session to discuss the political crisis two days before the scheduled date for resuming parliament sessions.

    A statement by the media office of the Parliament cited "Nijaifi called to hold an exceptional session on next Sunday morning to discuss the current crisis."

    "Nijaifi called MPs to attend the session to practice their role in settling the crisis to avoid its consequences," the statement concluded.

    Anbar demonstrations not peaceful, says former MP

    Baghdad (AIN) -Former MP Amira al-Baldawi stressed that Anbar demonstrations are not peaceful but serious.

    Baldawi cited that "These demonstrations are simply not peaceful where they disabled the people's interests and damaged their business especially when those protestors cut the international road and turned it into protests square."

    She pointed out that "Mosul province has also announced civil disobedience three days ago where the official hours at government departments and schools in addition to the governorate and provincial council is suspended," stressing that "It is unlawful to suspend the official hours which do not indicate that those demonstrations are peaceful."

    It is worth mentioning that the demonstrations and protests are still ongoing since a week in Anbar province as well as Salah il-Din and Nineveh cities, demanding the release of the detainees and cancelation of article No 4 of Iraq's Anti-Terrorism law besides other demands.

    Baghdad (AIN) –Parliamentary source ruled out holding the parliament exceptional session on next Sunday for coinciding with the anniversary of the Iraqi Army Day.

    Speaking to All Iraqi News Agency (AIN), the source assured "It is difficult for MPs to attend the parliament session at a day considered among the important official occasions in Iraq."

    Earlier, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, called to hold an urgent session to discuss the political crisis two days before the scheduled date for resuming parliament sessions.

    A statement by the media office of the Parliament cited "Nijaifi called to hold an exceptional session on next Sunday morning to discuss the current crisis."

    The political blocs do not show their opinion about this call yet.

    Integrity Committee attributes spread of corruption in Iraq to partisan, sectarian quotas

    Baghdad (AIN) -The Parliamentary Integrity Committee attributed the spread of the financial and administrative corruption at the government institutions to the quotas system.

    The Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Ahmed al-Jubouri, stated to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) "The spread of corruption is created by the partisan and sectarian quotas in addition to the uncooperative stance of the political blocs in fighting it thus weakened the supervisory role of the Iraqi Parliament."

    Jubouri stressed that "The corruption phenomenon cannot be combated by reliance on the Integrity Committee alone but it needs exerted efforts from all the political sides."

    "The size of corruption at the state departments exceeds the ability of the supervisory sides in assuming their task," he concluded.
