    BAGHDAD / NINA / Iraqi President Jalal Talabani was subjected to a health emergency and was transferred to the hospital

    A presidential statement said that President Jalal Talabani made great efforts recently in order to achieve reconciliation and stability in the country and due to all these efforts he was subjected to health emergency on Monday evening December 17, 2012 and was transferred to the hospital in Baghdad, where a medical sponsorship staff specialist will be issued a medical report later.

    Baghdad / NINA /-- MP Haidar Mullah for Iraqiya Slate revealed what it could bee a financial corruption in the military transport aircraft deal that had been contracted by Iraqi defense Ministry with the US Lockheed Martin in 2008.

    He said in a press conference held today in the parliament building: "We have not been covered of the repercussions of the corruption of weapon's deal with Russia arms, to discovered new deal corruption regarding the Iraqi Defense Ministry, which bought in 2008 six (C-130) military transport aircrafts of US Lockheed Martin Corp. cost of one billion and a half billion dollars.

    He said during checking planes file deal and prices, it became clear that some Gulf countries, precisely Qatar, and the UAE imported four planes from the same company in the same period with the same specifications but at $ 98 million per aircraft which means that the difference of each aircraft purchaced by Iraqi Defense Ministry is $ 152 million , as Iraq bought at $ 250 million for each one.

    Mahmoud Othman: Baghdad and Erbil resume talks next week.

    BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, of the Kurdistan Alliance, Mahmoud Othman described the meeting of the President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki as a positive and important at this stage.

    He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / "The Kurdish military and political delegations will resume talks with the central government early next week to agree on security measures on the ground in the disputed areas, and then, their forces' withdrawal comes, and this takes time."

    He added "If the meetings, between the Kurdish delegation with the government succeed, it would probably result a meeting attended by the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, but not in the near, to resolve problems between the two governments, because they are major players and decision-makers in the two governments. "

    President Jalal Talabani discussed, yesterday with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, the current political crisis and the latest developments in the region.

    BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, of the Kurdistan coalition, Baker Hama Siddiq confirmed that there is a great political move by the Kurdish blocs to end the outstanding problems between the Kurdistan region and the central government.

    He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /:
    "The representatives of the Kurdish blocs in the House of Representatives held meetings last week with a number of blocs of the National Alliance and a convergence of views and an agreement on a set of basic things took pace that are the subject of disagreement between all Iraqis."

    Siddiq added: "the Kurdish blocs and the Presidency represented by President Jalal Talabani and Vice President Khudair Khuzaie have conducted dialogues the last few days and we stressed that the current problems concern everyone, not just the center and the region."

    BAGHDAD / NINA / sources said that the leaders of the Iraqiya coalition began, this morning 18, Dec a meeting to resolve the issue of forming an alliance among themselves in preparation for coming provincial elections.

    The sources told the National Iraqi News Agency / Nina / today: "The meeting was devoted to resolving the issue of the participation in one alliance to participate in the coming provincial elections for the province of Baghdad."

    IHEC extends period of activating electors' record till 31st of December

    Baghdad (AIN) –The Independent High Electoral Commission announced the extension of the period for activating the electors' record till Monday the 31st of December.

    The spokesperson of the IHEC, Safaa al-Mousawi, stated in a press statement received by AIN "The IHEC decided to extend the period of activating the electors' record till Monday the 31st of December 2012."

    It is worth mentioning that the IHEC has extended the period for registering the political alliances that will participate in the next elections for the provincial councils.

    Maliki calls to help affected families by terrorist attacks in Kirkuk, Nineveh provinces

    Baghdad (AIN) –The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, called the committee formed to compensate the families that were affected by the terrorist attacks in Kirkuk and Nineveh provinces.

    In a press statement published in Maliki's website, he said
    "The criminal attacks aim to target the unity of Iraq in Kirkuk and Nineveh provinces and to reply to these attacks, we have to be careful and united."

    "The committee that was formed to compensate the affected families, has to provide the health services and helping those families by aiding the injured people where the investigating sides must reveal the doers of the criminal actions," he added.

    "While condemning these attacks, we assure that the government will take the suitable actions to provide security for the citizens, especially the targeted communities," he concluded.

    Former Oil Minister accuses Turkey of violating Iraqi investment laws in KR

    Baghdad (AIN) –The former Minister of Oil, Ibraheem Bahr al-Oloum, accused Turkey of violating the Iraqi investment laws in Kurdistan Region.

    In a press statement, he assured "Turkey is exploiting the disputes between the Central Government and the Kurdistani Regional Government to escalate the crisis."

    "Turkey should deal with the CG in Baghdad since Iraq is a sovereign state to preserve the security and stability in the two countries," he added.

    He ruled out implementing strategic projects in KR especially these related to oil and gas sectors because the CG did not approve them," he mentioned.

    "Turkey in need of a partner in energy field because it is not oil nor gas producing country," he concluded.

    Baghdad (AIN) -MP Ammar al-Shibli of the State of Law Coalition stressed that the visit of the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani to Kirkuk negatively affected the efforts of the President Jalal Talabani in resolving the current political crisis.

    Shibli stated to All Iraq News Agency "At a time Talabani tries to gather all the political sides on the dialogue table and bring the different views closer where he conducted a visit to Sulaimaniya and Erbil and held meetings with Barzani to reach solutions for the recent crisis, however Barzani' visit to Kirkuk hindered those efforts and medications."

    Baghdad (NINA) – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expressed reservations on the Iraqi Government's plan to increase the salaries of government employees and pensioners, demanding the government to explain its views in this regards.

    Informed source at the Ministry of Finance told NINA on Saturday, Dec. 15, that in
    a meeting held on Saturday in Amman, the IMF expressed satisfaction with the financial performance of the government in the year 2012.

    Iraqi side to the meeting with the IMF is headed by Minister of Finance, Rafi' al-Essawi, accompanied with the Governor of Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) Abdul Basit Turkee, as well as Finance Ministry's officials, in addition to the representatives for the ministries of Planning, Oil and the Central Auditing Body.
