Mahmoud Othman: Talabani meets with Maliki today. 09/12/2012 12:15:00
BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, Mahmoud Othman of the Kurdistan Alliance announced that President Jalal Talabani and the Kurdish delegation headed by Barham Saleh will meet today 9, Dec Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to discuss the political crisis and the possibility of an agreement to resolve it."
He confirmed, in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / "The need to have an agreement between the Governments of the center and the province, and if it happens, It should be written on paper with all details, and should not be verbally", stressing the need of the meetings of the military delegations to finalize the agreement."
He explained that "The current crisis between the Governments of the center and the region is continuing and escalating and the statements of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki during his meeting with the media delegation of Kuwait is an evidence, when he noted that Peshmerga forces movements are unconstitutional in the disputed areas. In return, military reinforcements of the Peshmerga forces have been sent to the disputed areas by the provincial government yesterday. These things do not indicate the agreement between the Governments of the region and the center and does not refer to a truce. "
The President Jalal Talabani returned to Baghdad from Sulaymaniyah, last Monday, and vowed to continue his efforts and endeavors to bring the views close to reach a political solution to the crisis. Talabani met during the past few days, a number of officials and politicians, including Osama al-Nujaifi Parliament Speaker, Ahmed Chalabi, head of the Iraqi National Congress, and the Iraqiya coalition President Iyad Allawi, who met with him on Saturday.

The sources told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that "A number of MPs, Alaa Makki, Hamid al-Mutlaq, Thamer al-Alwani, Shirwan Waeli and Abd Dhiab al-Ajeli have joined this movement."
The sources added that "The movement will attract a number of political movements that have an impact on the Iraqi street.

BAGHDAD / NINA / MP, of the state of law coalition, Yasser al-Yasiri confirmed that negotiations between the governments of the center and the Kurdistan region have reached an advanced stage, and the solution of the mixed areas crisis is near.
He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "the solution of this point makes all outstanding problems between the province and the center solvable, because they relate to the Constitution and bilateral agreements and through them we can get satisfactory solutions."
Yasiri made it clear that "The Kurdish side responded, but indirectly, to the proposal of Prime Minister to protect the mixed areas by the joint forces or protected by their residents , praising the role played by House Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi through his initiative endorsed by everyone."

The Information Office of the coalition quoted her as saying that "The Americans have made a major intelligence effort by their agents to thwart the Russian arms deal and played a hidden role to prevent the completion of this deal."
She added: "The United States carried out its plans with the complicity of some political forces to thwart the deal and poison Iraqi-Russian relations."
It is mentioned that financial corruption charges against members of the negotiating team for the purchase of weapons from the Russian side, which led to the cancellation of the deal and dismiss the government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh, from office.

Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Shwan Mohamed Taha, of the Kurdistani Alliance accused the State of Law Coalition of creating the crises and delaying the solution of the current disputes.
He stated to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) "The disputes between the Central Government and the Kurdistani Regional Government are not as deep as the problems all over Iraq that became complicated due to the SLC actions."
"The political crisis is not a result of deploying the military forces in the disputed areas so the politicians must find a fundamental solution because Iraq is suffering from mere political problems," he added.
"Withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, who threatened to take unpreceded actions that means according to analysts resorting to power," he concluded.

Baghdad (AIN) -MP Karim Elewi of the Iraqi National Alliance stressed that the current crises are fabricated by the political blocs to coincide with the approach of launching the upcoming provincial elections to get political gains.
Elewi said "We see that the tensions on political arena increase as the date of the local elections approaches where each side seeks to get the fanbase for its interest."
He called "The Iraqi statesmen to deal with the problems and crises prudently and rationally through prevailing the interests of the Iraqi people above all other privileges and interests and respecting the sacrifices of the people who suffered a lot for decades."

Baghdad (AIN) –Member of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, Imad Yaqoo, called Kuwait to show flexibility concerning relieving Iraq from the international sanctions imposed according to the 7th Chapter of the UN Charter.
He stated to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) "There are developments concerning the settlement of the pending issues between Iraq and Kuwait and this issue needs more cooperation between the two countries."
"Iraq informed the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon that it will continue paying the dues to Kuwait and to establish the trust with Kuwait," he added.
"Now, it is Kuwait's turn to show flexibility to help in relieving Iraq from the 7th Chapter that was imposed on Iraq due to the policies of the former regime," he continued.
"There are complicated issues unlike the issue of the Iraqi Airways that was solved including the border and the captives as well as the missing issues," he concluded.

Baghdad (AIN) –The Iraqiya Slate assured that the Iraqi funds are wasted due to the corruption and the mismanagement.
The spokesperson of the IS, Maysoun al-Damlouji, stated to AIN "The financial allocations for every side must be managed well to have effect on the citizens whether they were spent for the electricity, services, education or housing fields."
"Some funds must be allocated for the old cities like Baghdad, Basra, Hilla and Mosul to preserve these cities that forms a part of our national identity," she added.
It is worth mentioning that the Council of Ministers approved the financial budget of 2013 while the parliament is still discussing its draft.
