    Talabani, Khuza'e discuss political situation

    Baghdad (NINA) – President Jalal Talabani discussed the political situation with Vice President, Khoday'yer al-Khuza'e.

    A statement issued on Tuesday, Dec. 4, by the President's Office said that in the meeting the two discussed the political situation in light of recent developments, stressing to continue the efforts toward preparing suitable environment for serious dialogue to solve and overcome outstanding obstacles hindering the political forces attempts to reach an agreement.

    It added, for his part Vice President pointed out the importance of the President resumes his historic and patriotic role in working to solve the problems; because the Iraqis are counting on his wisdom toward bringing various views together and put an end to political problems.

    Breaking News ... Number of political blocs within INA form alliance for next elections in Salah il-Din

    Salah il-Din (AIN) –A number of the political blocs within the Iraqi National Alliance formed an alliance to participate in the local elections in Salah il-Din province.

    The reporter of All Iraq News Agency (AIN) stated on Tuesday "The Dawa Islamic Party headed by the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council headed by Ammar al-Hakim, the Sadr Trend headed by Muqtada al-Sadr, the Reformation Trend headed by the head of INA, Ibrahim al-Jaafary, Bader Organization headed by Hadi al-Amiri, Fadhila Islamic Party, Dawa Islamic Party/ Iraq organization and Independents bloc formed an alliance to participate in the next local elections in Salah il-Din province."

    "The new alliance is called the National Alliance of Salah il-Din," the source concluded.

    What Baghdad Told The KRG Delegation Last Week

    ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Halgurd Hikmat, media director of the Peshmerga ministry, attended last week’s talks in Baghdad to defuse tensions triggered after Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki dispatched his Dijla forces to disputed territories.

    He told Rudaw that defense ministry officials in Baghdad had refused a 14-point peace proposal by the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG), and had told the delegation:

    - Maliki would not abide by a KRG demand to dissolve the Dijla Operations Command.

    -Baghdad would no longer allow the Americans to attend meetings of a high committee tasked with managing the security situation in the disputed territories.

    - Peshmerga forces must immediately withdraw in the disputed territories of Nineveh, Salahadin, Kirkuk, and Dyala.

    -Security and police in Kirkuk and Dyala must be placed under the command of Dijla forces.

    -It is unacceptable for security forces in Kirkuk to act like Peshmerga.

    -The KRG must immediately withdraw the 6,000 Peshmerga troops sent to Kirkuk in civilian clothes.

    -The KRG’s Peshmerga forces must withdraw to their pre-existing boundaries of 2003.

    Sadr criticizes Maliki's speech and invites him to change tongue with his political partners.

    Baghdad / NINA /--Cleric Moqtada al-Sadr's criticized latest speech made by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in which he threatened political partners.

    A statement by the Political Commission of Sadrist trend quoted Sadr , as saying : "The explicit threat in prime minister's speech represents a grave mistake should not be done. moreover it must be changed.

    Sadr stressed the need that Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki should give up of such a tongue when addressed to his political partners," adding that "arming the Iraqi army is essential but must not from a country who occupied Iraq, not corrupted or expired and not purchasing it by doubles of its price, more important must not purchased for the benefit of another state .

    Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki threatened in a press conference held few days ago, the political parties, who calls for withdrawal of confidence from him by resorting to unprecedented dissuasive measures".

    Ban Ki-moon to visit Baghdad Thursday to enter a crisis between the Centre and the region

    The House decision revealed Mohamed Khaldi, Tuesday, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon will arrive in Baghdad on Thursday to meet with heads of political blocs.



    Khaldi said in a statement to Al baghdadia news “United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will arrive in Baghdad on Thursday for a meeting with the heads of political blocs and members of the House of representatives to enter as a neutral party to resolve the crisis between Baghdad and the Centre”.



    “The Secretary General of the United Nations intended to enter the crisis line to help resolve political differences and mutual understanding on regional situations and the role of Iraq as head of the Arabic League.”
