Iraq signed a contract to buy 18 U.S. warplane F16 type
Announced Acting Defense Minister Saadoun al-Dulaimi said that his country had signed a contract to buy a second group of F-16 fighter jets, US-made worth about three billion dollars, which includes 18 fighter in the framework of an agreement in principle to buy 36 of these jets to rebuild its air force.

The al-Dulaimi told reporters after a meeting with U.S. officials in Baghdad that the new contract does not differ from the first decade of the hand technical and financial details and delivery of the second batch will end in 2018.

Dulaimi pointed out that Iraq was talking to the American officials also on the purchase of air defense systems and helicopters Apache.
