Twilight News / Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki Tuesday with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev bilateral relations and cooperation in the fields of energy, and presided over a meeting of a number of ministers from both countries.

A statement by the prime minister reportedly for "Twilight News", that al-Maliki said during the meeting that Iraq today is seeking to strengthen its relations with friendly countries and open up areas for cooperation especially in the sectors of energy, agriculture and trade.

He added that "our previous visit to Moscow was founded to balanced relations based on interests and mutual respect, and we will seek during this visit to discuss all the ways and mechanisms that would promote cooperation in economic and trade fields."

For his part, Russian Prime Minister his country's readiness to cooperate and strengthen the relationship with Iraq.

He explained that Russia has the desire to strengthen the relationship with the Arab peoples and Iraq among those nations that seek to promote ways to cooperate with him through the head with all the necessary capabilities in the field of energy and oil.
