State of Law supports nominating Ubaidi to become Defence Minister

Baghdad (NINA) – Lawmaker from the State of Law Alliance, Abdul Salam al-Maliki, affirmed that his Alliance supports the nomination of Khalid al-Ubaidi to the post of Defence Minister.

In a statement to the press of Saturday, Sep. 22, Maliki said that the State of Law believes that Ubaidi is a suitable person for his professionalism, experience and good history, as well as of his knowledge of the Iraqi Army's affairs.

He added that Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki does not object to the nomination of Ubaidi or the current Acting Minister, Sadoun al-Dulaimi, to carry the Defence Ministry's portfolio, because the two are acceptable for their experience and independency; He affirmed that the State of Law welcomes the nomination of either of them. / End.
