An informed diplo-matic source revealed on Tuesday, that the political crisis between Baghdad and Erbil is now threatening to start military battles, stressing that any other tension between the two sides will lead to an armed conflict. The source, who asked not to be named said in an interview with "Shafaq News", that "the political crisis between Baghdad and Erbil has worsened a lot and has become on the edge of a military war, as it will not be too long until this war breaks out, unless some parties interfere to mediate." “Kurdistan and its government will not stand this anymore, as it has reached the end and it wants a lot to separate and form a Kurdish state." "On the basis of the existing information about the Kurds capabilities, Kurdistan Region is ready now to fight in this war and will be fighting sooner or later,” the source added. Relations between Baghdad and Erbil are witnessing a constant crisis that have worsened months ago but have intensified in the recent period due to disagreements on the oil contracts concluded by Kurdistan with a number of foreign companies as well as accusations made against Kurdistan over fuel smuggling out of Iraq, in addition to the crisis that has intensified between the two sides about the deployment the Iraqi forces on the Syrian border in the province which was something opposed by Kurdistan and had led almost to an armed clash between the Iraqi army forces and Peshmerga.
