ERBIL, Aug.28 (AKnews)- The implementation of Customs Tariff Act will be delayed until the electronic information system is installed at the entire international border crossings in Iraq, Iraqi trade minister said.

The act was ought to be implemented on June 1 in all Iraqi crossings, including those in the Kurdistan Region but in the absence of electronic systems at the crossings the enforcement of the law was delayed, said Kheyrulla Hassan.

Hassan said his ministry has informed the Ministry of Finance that after three or six months the border crossings will be equipped with computerized systems which will pave the way for enforcing the Customs Tariff Act.

The system will not only help in organization but also helps to protect and boost the internal products, the minister said.
