Maliki’s government cannot be reformed, says Allawi
BAGHDAD, Aug. 15 (AKnews) – Iraqiya List led by former Prime Minister Ayad Allawi stated Wednesday that it is not optimistic that the project adopted by the National Alliance (NA) will resolve the current crisis through reforms in the Iraqi state.
Last month the NA sent an official invitation to all the political blocs to start dialogue about a group of reforms to resolve the current political crisis.
List member Muzher Khodor said: “Everyone supports comprehensive reform in the state but there is no hope that the reforms will take place, especially with regard to the post of minister of defense in Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s government.
“Iraqiya must accept the nomination of Saadoun al-Dulaimi as minister of defense or not resolve the file until the end of the current government.”
The NA formed a political reform committee to resolve the ongoing political crisis in the country, calling on the blocs to deal seriously with the reform paper to reach a viable solution for the political crisis.
