ERBIL, July 7 (AKnews) - Iraq’s deputy prime minister today welcomed the reform paper from the National Alliance (NA), saying that the paper is a result of moves to withdraw confidence from PM Nouri al-Maliki, according to a statement.

Saleh al-Mutlaq salhThe statement quoted the leader in Iraqiya Saleh al-Mutlaq as saying: "The Erbil meetings sought to withdraw confidence from PM Maiki to achieve reforms similar to the ones that the NA called for."

The Kurdish Blocs Coalition (KBC), Iraqiya and the Sadrist Movement are seeking to withdraw confidence from PM Maliki. The Sadrist Movement led by Muqtada al-Sadr recently withdrew its supporting for the efforts to withdraw confidence.

The NA has confirmed that the reforms that will be achieved will be legislative and related to the enactment of basic laws. In addition, they will expand the principle of partnership in decision-making and resolve the outstanding issues, as well as ensure the judiciary is not politicized.
