Baghdad (AIN) -MP Khalid al-Asadi of the State of Law Coalition accused the Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nijaifi of "turning the Parliament into a political disputes arena and that he lacks impartiality."
Asadi added "Nijaifi exploited his post in adopting political projects away from impartiality and neutrality," noting that "He turned the Parliament into an arena for political disputes."
"Some MPs intend to withdraw confidence from Nijaifi," he added, clarifying that "This request should be settled within the Iraqi National Alliance and then among other political blocs since it is related to all blocs in the Iraqi Parliament."
Legal sources mentioned that according to the Constitution, withdrawing confidence from the Premier needs votes of more than half the number of MPs which is (163) while withdrawing confidence from the Speaker requires votes pof third of the MPs. /End/
