Baghdad (NINA) – Iraqiya slated asserted that it is moving ahead with the process of withdrawing confidence from the government of Nuri al-Maliki; stressing that it will resort to other choices if the president does not determine his position.

In a joint press conference held on Saturday afternoon, June 9, in Mosul, with the slate's members, Iraqiya's Spokesperson, Maysoon al-Damalouji, said that Iraqiya slate held its regular meeting discussing latest political developments. She pointed out that the convened stressed on continuing the move toward putting an end to the monocracy approach through coordinating with its allies, especially the Kurdish Alliance and the Sadrist Trend, in addition to other patriotic forces who seek well for Iraq.
For his part, the slate's spokesman, Hayder al-Mulla said that Iraqiya insists on its position of withdraw confidence from the government; adding that Maliki is following monocracy approach, our Kurdish and Sadrist alliance seek to have a harmonic government and genuine partnership.
Mulla added that a coordination committee consisting from Iraqiya, Kurdish Alliance and the Sadrist Trend will be formed to follow up the strategic decision aimed to rectify the political process and put an end to the dictatorship tendency and consolidate the principles of peaceful rotation of power.
He pointed out that if the President presented the demand to withdraw confidence in accordance with Article 61 of the Constitution, we will go along; and if he has another view, then we will seek withdrawing confidence from the government through questioning the Prime Minister in Parliament.
The Iraqiya slate's meeting held on Saturday in Mosul, attended by all its and leaders, including Iyad allwi, Usama al-Nijaifi and Saleh al-Mutlaq discussing withdrawing confidence from the government of Nuri al-Maliki. / End.
