Iraq confirms its commitment to pay the dues arising from the Paris Club agreement
Erbil, June 6 (Rn) - The Iraqi government announced on Wednesday that the adoption of my recommendation to the Ministerial Committee for ensuring the protection of Iraqi funds fall within the fulfillment of international obligations and the completion of the items that resulted from Iraq by the policies of the former regime.
The Cabinet had decided at its twenty-fourth session on Tuesday approved my recommendation to the Ministerial Committee for ensuring the protection of Iraqi funds.
A statement from government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh that "the adoption of my recommendation to the Ministerial Committee for ensuring the protection of Iraq's money comes the interest of government to repay debt and meet international obligations and the completion of the items that resulted from Iraq by the policies of the former regime and its consequences such as oil for food program , as well as the adoption of a mechanism to ensure full protection of Iraqi funds after the end of the mandate of the Development Fund for Iraq at the end of 2010. "
Dabbagh said that "the special ministerial committee to ensure the protection of Iraqi funds had asked the Council of Ministers on April 19, 2012 adoption of its recommendations."
