Iraqi economists network involved in organizing the conference "Financial Iraq 2017"

We got to the main financial regulator Iraq conference, which this important conference is organized for the public finances and the financial and banking sector in Iraq since 2012, an invitation to participate in a scientific consultant for the preparation of the agenda and selection of themes and papers to the conference sessions. This conference will be held in the presence of high-level official figures in economic decision in the period between 14-15 March 2017 at the Phoenicia Hotel in Beirut.

Agenda and strategies of the conference:

The public finances, including the financial sector , banking and financial services policy, as well as the policy of cash, of the main pillars for the development of the Iraqi economy, which will be a focus of attention in the agenda of the conference to formulate strategies and new programs and projects aimed at overcoming the financial crisis experienced by the race after the collapse of oil prices in the past years, and move to the stage of growth and economic diversification through the mobilization of resources and potentials in the Iraqi economy.

Conference agenda includes themes the following:


· What are the economic reforms announced by the government is seeking to achieve?

· What are the central bank attitudes towards a new formulation of monetary policy and about the banking system reform?

· What are the joint investment projects between the public and private sector programs - PPP ?

· What are the ways to success in investing in small and medium projects in Iraq?

· How Iraq benefited from foreign banks experiences and what their experiences in Iraq and what are the opportunities for the entry of more foreign banks?

· What are the current laws and conditions for import, export and what are the plans for improvement.

· How Iraq would have a good environment to attract foreign investment?

· Allocations 2017 budget and new trends in the Iraqi fiscal policy.

· What are the required legislation to protect the economic investment and banking?

· Challenges and opportunities for the reform of public finances.

· How to promote services of Iraqi banks and its mechanisms?

· Nearly free from money laundering financial transactions.

· What are the policies and procedures of the government to combat corruption and money laundering?


The conference will discuss many other important issues, including new and innovative sources of financing for large, medium and small enterprises, the development and construction of infrastructure projects and the development of Iraq Stock Exchange, and funding opportunities for the private sector of Iraq.
