Talabani and Maliki meet in Baghdad and confirm partnership

Erbil, May 11 / May (Rn) - met with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Friday to discuss the crisis and stressed the importance of partnership between all the forces.

Iraq is gripped by political crisis since the withdrawal of U.S. troops in late last year. The leaders are seeking to solve through a conference called by Talabani for reconciliation.

A presidential statement said Talabani and Maliki, who met in Baghdad in search of "all the political problems encountered in the process of building the state."

The two leaders stressed "the need to overcome through joint action and understandings that are based on the national Constitution, agreements and worksheets raised through a national meeting and to ensure participation of all in building Iraq and tracks progress of the political process."

The statement said that Talabani and Maliki also stressed "the importance of the hard work to overcome the problems and to help in creating a positive atmosphere for dialogue in order to reach practical solutions."
