    The political blocs have demanded in the past days to amend the existing election law by the formation of a new Electoral Commission under the supervision of the United Nations before proceeding to make any parliamentary or local elections, to ensure fairness.

    In a related context, the Committee of the Regions parliamentary, Sunday confirmed that the request for the formation of Basra province, meets the legal requirements, and suggested the possibility of a referendum on the territory of Basra, in conjunction with the provincial election.
