Iraq to pay Gulf-affected Egyptian workers

Despite the passage of 26 year to the end of Gulf War II, hundreds thousands of Egyptian workers, who fled the war, are still the main reason for the development of Iraqi-Egyptian relations.

The Egyptian workers are demanding their compensations from Iraq during the past two decades that led to forming different committees to discuss these issues and the financial compensations.

It is expected to have joint meetings to pay about 500 million Egyptian Pounds (53 million dollars) to the affected workers.


According to Egyptian sources, the salaries and compensations of 1100 workers shall be discussed during the coming talks. The affected Egyptian workers' figures are expected to 25.0000 workers with a total amount of about one billion dollars.
