America's deputy foreign minister arrives in Iraq ahead of the battle of Mosul

Twilight News / According to the US embassy in Iraq that Vice Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken arrived late Tuesday night to Iraq to meet with officials of Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region and ahead of a planned campaign to restore Mosul of al Daesh.
The embassy said in a statement responded to the Twilight News, to discuss Blenkn in Iraq, "political, economic, humanitarian and security issues with government officials, including a long-term partnership with Iraq under the Strategic Framework Agreement." Accompanying the deputy minister in this visit both Brett Macorj international coalition to fight Daesh special presidential envoy, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Joseph Banngton. He is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Blinken Haider al-Abadi and other Iraqi officials at the national level and the provinces to discuss a range of economic and security issues, including joint efforts to defeat Daesh and planning for Mosul. The deputy minister also will also meet with senior US military officials to discuss US support for continuing members of the Iraqi security forces operating under the command and control of the Iraqi government, according to the statement. He said the embassy statement said Blinken will then visit the Kurdistan Region of Iraq on September 15, where he will meet with the region's president, Massoud Barzani, and a number of senior officials in the provincial government. Blinken will examine in Arbil, "continue discussions on efforts to destroy and defeat Daesh and support for the Peshmerga forces as well as the immediate response to humanitarian crises and to help displaced people in Iraq."
