France boosts support to Iraq to send artillery pieces

Said French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Odrian, on Tuesday, that "his country has sent artillery pieces to the Iraqi army in preparation for the Liberation of the city of Mosul.

The minister said at the conclusion of the forum on defense in Paris "We decided to provide more support to Iraqi forces this autumn with the aim of restoring Mosul," he said, adding that he "is currently the focus of artillery pieces near the front line to provide an accurate attribution to the Iraqis."

"The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle prepares to sail in the third task against Daesh gangs since January 2015 and 12 aircraft will enhance the aircraft carrier stationed in Jordan and the UAE French launcher since the end of 2014".

President Francois Hollande announced in July to send artillery pieces of the Iraqi army in addition to the French military advisers to deal with these pieces.

The Hollande also said then "send carrier Charles de Gaulle end of September in order to intensify the strikes of the international coalition in Iraq and Syria." The French minister stressed that "the overthrow of gangs Daesh no longer only a matter of time."
