Iraqi government delegation to visit Egypt to see the experience of the "poor fund"

Iraqi responsible announced on Sunday that a delegation of government officials and parliamentarians went to Egypt today, in an official visit lasting three days to see the recent experience in the establishment of a fund for "poor support" with the support of the World Bank.

Over the past months, held by representatives of the Iraqi government and parliament, continuous meetings with the World Bank, to agree on a new strategy to reduce the poverty rate in the country, which amounted to 23.5%.

Said Najiba Najib, a member of the Iraqi government delegation, a member of the Committee of Economy parliamentary, Baghdad International Airport, said that the government delegations and parliamentary includes Mahdi Keywords, Chairman of the State Technical Committee for the Poverty Reduction Strategy, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Planning and the Iraqi parliament, will travel today to Egypt , on an official visit for the experience to establish a fund to support the poor.

Najib added that "the delegation will hold visits over three consecutive days, for all of the Fund institutions support the Egyptian poor, which was set up with support from the World Bank, and the possibility to take advantage of their experience in the establishment of support for the poor in Iraq Fund also has the support of the World Bank."

Poverty rate in Iraq, in 2010 about 23%, prompting the Ministry of Planning to develop a national strategy (2010-2014) to alleviate poverty, which has been able to reduce the ratio to 17% in 2013.

And it decided the Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation of Iraq, earlier this year to cancel more than 290 executed projects in a number of provinces will cost more than 10 trillion dinars (about US $ 8.5 billion) due to the financial crisis faced by the country.

It should be noted that the World Bank carried out a project in Egypt, targeting the poor across the country, by providing basic emergency assistance, and to provide the necessary training for future jobs.
