(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Iran's senior Shiite cleric, Sayyed Ahmad Khatami, in his speech in Shahrekord explained that the there are three general positions against Iran’s Islamic Revolution. The first position is the anti-revolutionary movement.
“From the early days of the Islamic Revolution, there have been some individuals against it and they exist in all walks of life but they are a minority in number,” he said.
The member of the board of directors of the Assembly of Experts said that the anti-revolutionary movement consists of several categories and the main position of the anti-revolutionary movement is antagonism toward the Islamic nature and identity of the Islamic Revolution.
His Eminence stressed that this movement does not accept the domination of Islam in government and added, “Certainly, the United States and the imperialist powers fall into this category.”
Sayyed Khatami pointed out that the second category of the imperialist powers consists of foreigners who are opposed to the Islamic nature of Iran’s system and the internal opposition consists of the secular movement within Iran.
“The internal secular movement considers religion separate from politics and a marginal issue and believes that the religion has nothing to do with worldly affairs,” he said.
The member of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Seminaries pointed out that the third category of those against the Revolution are those who have misunderstood, are simple-minded and naďve and in regard to this group, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei has referred to them as “Radical Shi’ite.”
“They are against the Islamic Revolution and by promoting the cursing of Sunni sanctities and insulting Sunni culture, they claim to follow the Ahlul-Bayt while they have hurled the biggest blow to Shi’ism,” he said.
Referring to the film “Day of Torture,” the Friday prayer leader of Tehran said that this counter-revolutionary movement is promoting a divisive film about the early history of Islam through its satellite network and added that many Shi’a scholars have also condemned the film.
“This movement which is supported by the British government also supports ISIL and is led by Yasir al-Habib, an uneducated cleric who took refuge in London, where he spent billions of dollars building a media network which spreads sectarian propaganda,” the Friday prayer leader of Tehran said.
Sayyed Khatami said this extremist movement is against the teachings of the Ahlul-Bayt and their sole intention is to defame the image of Shi’ism in the world.
