Kurdish official said Peshmerga forces backed by air strikes from coalition forces led by the United States launched a new offensive against Daash fighters in the early hours of Sunday morning as part of a plan for snapping on the stronghold of the organization in Mosul.
The assault began after heavy shelling and air strikes from Wardak , located 30 kilometers southeast of Mosul , where some of the Peshmerga forces deployed.
