Federal Court finds unconstitutional article 59 from the party law

Federal Court ruled unconstitutional article 59 from the party law, noting that instruct on the law of the prerogatives of the independent High Electoral Commission.

A member of the Board of Commissioners and UNHCR spokesman Mekdad sharifi, in a statement received {Euphrates news}, "the Commission, win a decision of the Federal Court regarding the power to issue instructions for the party law, article 59 of the law of the parties contrary to the Constitution and to issue instructions for the party law is the prerogative of the independent High Electoral Commission rather than the Council of Ministers".

He called on the political parties "need to complete registration procedures by reviewing Department of parties in the Election Commission."

He noted that "time is running out as the legal period for party registration and review of the Office in order to complete the registration procedures.

And the Independent Electoral Commission were invited on 29 July last, political parties in Iraq, both old and modern composition or problem that previously participated in the elections to speed up the revision of the Election Commission/Department of political parties and organizations.
