Baghdad/ Iraq TradeLink:

Iraq is losing 150 billion dollars due to the increasing number of the holidays in the country, according to Iraqi economists and Parliamentary Endowment and Religious Affairs Commission.

MP Badr al-Fahal stated that the average annual holidays in Iraq reached to 150 days that mostly affected the students on all levels.

"Due to such holidays, the levels of education were deteriorating in the country", he confirmed.

Till now, there is no law organizing the holidays in Iraq, where the differences were concentrated on the religious ones among the two Shiite and Sunni components, as well as the demands of other minorities to include their national holidays within the governmental frameworks.
