Iraq urged Austria to open an embassy in Baghdad and the signing of an investment agreement between the two countries.

The statement noted that "al-Jaafari urged the Austrian side to open an embassy in Baghdad; in order to strengthen bilateral relations, and expressed Iraq's interest in activating the work of the Joint Commission between the two countries, stressing the need for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries through visits at all levels sharing, calling for the signing of the investment agreement between the two countries. "

On his part, Sebastian Kurz, Austrian Foreign Minister expressed his country's aspiration to strengthen bilateral relations with Iraq, and to achieve a qualitative leap in cooperation between the two countries.
