Kuwait pledged Wednesday to provide humanitarian assistance to Iraq worth $ 176 million during the donors' conference to support Iraq, which was held under the auspices of Kuwait and other nations in Washington.

He said Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Assistant for Follow Up Affairs Nasser Al-Sabeeh and coordination at a press conference that Kuwait's contribution dedicated to the needs of medical and relief under the supervision of the Kuwaiti institutions concerned.

He explained that he will be directing $ 30 million for humanitarian relief and another 46 million dollars to help in the rapid humanitarian response against the backdrop of recent developments in the city of Fallujah.

Sabeeh pointed out that "Kuwait is aware of the difficult economic situation in Iraq and will work with the international community to alleviate those burdens."

He said he will hold a meeting soon to clarify the mechanism to support Iraq hoping to achieve stability in this country soon.

The aim of the support provided during the conference to remove the mines and to achieve immediate stability, in particular by restoring electricity and providing humanitarian assistance to strengthen the affected areas of the organization Daash.
