Iraq calls for Germany to develop agriculture and privatization of State-owned industrial enterprises

Iraq called Wednesday for Germany to contribute to the development of agriculture and privatization of State-owned industrial enterprises, noting that the investment environment and its industrial environment, as the European Union called on Basra conservative lending sovereign guarantees provided by the Federal Government to implement strategic projects in the province.

The planning Minister Salman jumaili said on the sidelines of the meeting with economic adviser to the German Chancellor Jorg asmosn in a statement, "received a copy of it, the Government is moving toward activating other development sectors oil and alternative agriculture and industry to its potential of Iraq in these areas", calling on the German Government to provide support to help the Government by taking advantage of the German experience in developing agriculture and privatization of State-owned industrial enterprises ".

Jumaili said that "investment environment and industrial in Iraq's Bakr and environment that the laws in force and of the Iraqi investment law allows foreign companies with State-owned Iraqi companies to qualify."

Asmosn expressed his desire to expand the framework of support for Iraq in the face of circumstances that passes by, in particular, directed by the German Government on helping Iraq in the process of reform of the administrative and economic structures, "Minister of planning to visit Berlin and Germany's industrial and economic realities and how to take advantage of the expertise available for rehabilitation of agriculture and industry in Iraq."

Mentions that Iraq pursues a policy of economic openness in recent years, giving rise to the foreign companies and international investment in Iraq in most sectors that need rehabilitation and modernisation especially in reconstruction and oil infrastructure.

Meanwhile the European Union called the Basra management, lending to maintain sovereign guarantees provided by the Federal Government, to implement strategic projects in the province, while the Union expressed willingness for joint cooperation in the economic, educational, cultural and local government support.

This came during a press conference, Governor of Basra, Majid Nasraoui, Ambassador of the European Union mission with Iraq, Patrick Simunek, yesterday, at the Town Hall, on the fringes of Basra's last visit to open horizons of joint cooperation, attended by (long press).

The Governor said that "discussions with the representative of the European Union focused on the fight against the Islamic State and displaced people return to their homes safe mechanism and economic situation and investment opportunities and the agricultural realities and share experiences in the education and health sectors", noting that "Basra needs EU expertise in particular through scholarships for Basra University in the areas of health and education, as well as investment in FAO port project across the concrete companies, and other projects concerning the infrastructure of the province."

Nasraoui, called "European countries to lend to sovereign guarantees of Basra Federal Government for projects implemented by European companies.
The Ambassador expressed the EU mission, "the EU's readiness to cooperate with Iraq in the fields of economy, education and culture and supporting local government in Basra."

The European Union mission have shown in Iraq, by the year 2015, its readiness to start negotiations with Iraq to grant a loan of more than half a billion euros, in addition to supporting Iraq in its war against terrorism through military and humanitarian aid.
