The resumption of negotiations between Baghdad and the International Monetary to secure financial support for Iraq

Iraq resumed negotiations with the IMF on a standby agreement Alantmaia financially to support it .

The Iraqi Finance Ministry in a statement on Saturday, "The government delegation, headed by the Finance Minister, Hoshyar Zebari, arrived in the Jordanian capital of Amman."

The statement added, "The delegation, headed by Zebari includes both Governor of the Central Bank and economic advisor to the Prime Minister and senior ministries of oil and electricity, planning and BSA officials, as well as public bodies of Customs, taxes and retirement, experts of the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank."

A statement by the Ministry of Finance that "this visit is to resume negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, in order to conclude a standby credit agreement, which will provide Iraq with financial support to enable it to overcome the financial crisis and reduce the gap in the budget so as to enhance economic and financial system of the country's reform process.

He also pointed out that "the first meeting was held on Saturday morning with the IMF experts," noting that "it was the review of the technical aspects of the agreement and the obligations of the two sides opposite."

The statement concluded that "the negotiations will continue until the date of May 18, 2016", and that "from the meditator to be completed by this arrangement in a short period."
