Energy ministers in Egypt, Iraq and Jordan are looking tomorrow developments in Iraq Aqaba oil pipeline

Looking Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Ibrahim Saif with the Egyptian and Iraqi counterparts in Cairo on Tuesday developments in the pipeline project (Basra-Aqaba) agreed upon by the three countries in Amman in November last year.

The Department of Energy said in a statement on Monday, the minister Seif heads to Cairo tomorrow at the head of a delegation to discuss with the Egyptian minister Tariq Al Mulla Iraqi Adel Abdul Mahdi, activating the memorandum of understanding that the three signed by ministers in Amman on November 15 2015 in order to strengthen mutual cooperation in the field of mechanisms oil and gas through a project to extend the oil pipeline from the Iraqi lands to the port of Aqaba on the Red Sea.

The pipeline Alaraca- Jordanian parallel gas pipeline, an ambitious project for his role in the integration and enhance energy security understandings between the two countries after moving toward the practical implementation of the project after the completion of technical studies.

According to the MOU, Jordan to benefit from crude oil and liquefied gas in Iraq to meet the needs of oil products and natural gas to generate electricity.

The Iraqi government approved an additional path for the implementation of the project is situated near the Saudi border project and provide additional features most notably the reduction of line distance carrier crude oil, which reduces the project, which constitutes one of the objectives of the joint Arab work commissioned.

The tube Iraqi - Jordanian oil is a project under Altiv to transfer the extracted crude oil from Basra, the southern Iraqi oilfields to the city of Aqaba on the Red Sea south of the kingdom.

The pipeline stretches 1,700 kilometers across two phases, the first extending from Basra to the modern western Iraq, and the second extends to the port of Aqaba for the export of oil to the world.
