Iraqi forces storm the government compound in the center of Ramadi

Shafaq News / Sources in Anbar Operations Command said that a force of anti-terrorism device seized control of the blood bank building inside the government complex in the centre of Ramadi without a fight.

Iraqi Military sources said that Iraqi forces and ISIS are exchanging mortar shelling and missiles in Nuaimiya area located at a distance of 5 km to the south of Fallujah city, which is controlled by ISIS organization without knowing the losses between the parties.

The Iraqi forces have penetrated deep into Ramadi city, stepping up its offensive to recover the city from the mentioned militant group.

Military officials said that the bombs and car bombs planted by the organization slow down the progress of the Iraqi forces backed by gunmen of Sunni tribes and airstrikes by the international US-led coalition aircrafts.

Iraqi officials have said that the forces were able to enter al- Haouz area, one of the most important strongholds of the Islamic state organization in the center of Ramadi. al- Haouz area includes the administrative headquarters for Anbar province and the main leadership of the police.

ISIS has lost control on a number of key towns in Iraq after being retaken by government and Kurdish forces, after its invasion for large areas north and west of the country in June 2014 and the declaration of "Caliphate", which also extends in neighboring Syria. https://english.shafaaq.com/security/...of-ramadi.html
