Agreement to supply Kuwait Iraqi gas

Sabah Al-Khalid stressed that Kuwait and Iraq exceeded all obstacles and outstanding issues over the past years and praised the development of relations between the two countries in various fields.
In response to a question about the volume of trade exchange between the municipal and the possibility of supplying Iraq of Kuwait gas Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid he said the two countries reached an agreement to supply Kuwait Iraqi gas to the presence of excess has, noting that the two competent in the two countries will meet to put the finishing touches required in this regard.
"The trade volume between the two countries is relatively increased since last year, equivalent to 22 percent," pointing out that the investment and trade volume has been growing in recent years between the two countries.
He said Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid said the Joint Committee held its fifth meeting in the presence of more than 15 hand between the two countries and discussed many topics and mechanisms that would strengthen the fraternal relations between the two countries.
He said the two sides signed four agreements today in the field of inspection and control, Youth and Sports and activation of interconnection for communications via a fiber optic useful that the number of agreements concluded between the two countries reached the agreement 49.
He added that the meeting dealt with the achievements that put forward last year adopted at all levels and various fields such as the opening of consulates general categories of the State of Kuwait in the cities of Basra and Arbil, in addition to the consolidation of the secondary business relationship between the two countries during the last period and facilitate the movement of citizens between the two countries.
He noted that more than 142 000 Iraqis crossed the Kuwaiti border in exchange for 50 000 Kuwaiti citizen crossed the Iraqi border during 2014.
