Oil Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi discussed with a delegation from the French oil company Total prospects of joint cooperation in Iraq. A statement by the ministry, said Abdul-Mahdi, "I keep Haerten Oliver, CEO of France's Total in Iraq and the company's vice president Pascal Carrier, During the meeting they discussed issues of common interest between the two issues and to achieve the common interests of the two." The Minister of Oil, "Iraq's desire to strengthen relations with discreet international companies including France's Total, along with expanding the horizons of cooperation in the oil and energy fields and thus contributing to the development and increase production." For his part, the CEO of France's Total in Iraq expressed "the desire of the company to expand the horizons of cooperation and contribute to the development of the oil industry in Iraq." The Oil Ministry signed earlier with the French company Total a memorandum of understanding to implement a project for the petrochemical industry in the province of Basra.
