Legal representative: government will send dual nationality law to parliament soon



Alsumaria News / Baghdad - Parliamentary Legal Committee, announced Monday, that Parliament will take over soon from the government project of dual nationality law, and showed that while the law prohibits anyone who holds dual citizenship from holding any senior position or state to stand for election, confirmed the presence of the political majority approval.

Said committee member MP Ibtisam Hilali in an interview with Alsumaria News, "There is a package of draft laws have been returned to the government and it will be sent from the last before the House of Representatives, in the coming days," adding that "it is within these laws Project dual nationality law."

Hilali "The law prohibits any person holding a second nationality from holding any senior position or stand for elections," asserting "the existence of a political majority to approve this project."
