Planning: the month of Muharram led to a slight rise in the prices of food

The Ministry of Planning, said on Wednesday that the month of Muharram cause a slight increase in food prices, while confirming that some food prices rise during the seasons.
He said ministry spokesman Abdul Zahra al-Hindawi said in an interview to the (long-Presse), "There are always two parts is causing higher inflation in the country and are part of food and housing," noting that "food section often rises during the seasons."
Hindawi said that "the month of Muharram is a season causing a rise in food prices because of the great demand for it," pointing out that "the rise probably came to 1% is expected to decline with the end of the season."
Hindawi pointed out that "the nature of supply and demand is one of the market moves, which in turn determines the price, whether for food or any other commodity," asserting that "the role of regulatory bodies that maintain the stability of the market comes here because it causes your inflation annual rise."
It is said that the Iraqis are accustomed to that during the month of Muharram prepare meals from the food in large quantities and distributed to various citizens as well as a movement unprecedented in commercial markets.
