Barzani to Shamkhani: We seek to address differences with the federal government in our next visit

Shafaq News / The head of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) , Nechirvan Barzani confirmed that there are problems between Baghdad and Erbil group need to be addressed, pointing out that in his upcoming visit to Baghdad , he will seek to resolve some of which are in the interest of the Iraqi people. A statement of the presidency of KRG received by Shafaq News, said that the head of the Iranian Supreme Council of National Security General, Ali Shamkhani received, on Monday, the head of KRG , Nechirvan Barzani in Tehran and discussed with him a number of issues of common interest. The statement said that Shamkhani expressed his happiness for the visit carried out by Barzani to Iran and stressed that his country's support to Kurdistan Region will continue, especially with regard to countering terrorism, noting to the depth of relations between the two sides. Shamkhani added that his country does not wish any case of disorder and the differences to prevail in the region, stressing that stability of the region is stability to Iran. Shamkhani demanded the Kurdish parties to maintain unity and solve the problems through dialogue and negotiations, stressing that the priority is to face ISIS terrorist organization .
The statement said that the head of KRG for his part thanked the warm reception and spoke about the aid provided by Iran to the region in tough times, praising Tehran's position in support of the region in various fields.

On the ancient relations between the peoples of Iran and Kurdistan, Barzani said that the region pays great importance to these relations and constantly seeks to strengthen them in all fields.

On relations between Baghdad and Erbil, Barzani said that there are problems between the two sides that need to be addressed, pointing out that he will seek to resolve some of the problems in his upcoming visit to Baghdad which are in the interest of the Iraqi people in general.

Barzani said that the region is currently going through a difficult financial crisis as Baghdad has cut the budget of the region since last year while received large numbers of displaced persons and refugees to the region to escape the terror which contributed to double the heavy load on the region, adding that this requires Parties in the region to unite in their positions and keep it safe.

He noted that the recent events are undesirable and become the cause of the government to take steps to calm the situation.

After this meeting, the Kurdish delegation headed by the Head of KRG , Nechirvan Barzani, returned to the region at the end of a visit to Tehran to participate in the Munich Security Conference.
