Al-Harthy: paragraph should be amended land sale to foreigners in investment law



BAGHDAD / Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) - Chairman of the Committee of Economy and Investment parliamentary Harith al-Harthy said, that one of the paragraphs of the amendment of the Investment Law include ownership of the land to the Iraqi foreign investor rather than renting, which means that Iraq will sell his land pretext bring in investors.

The Presidency in the House of Representatives on Thursday, she discussed with the committees of economy and investment Alniabaten draft investment law to a vote at the meeting on Monday next.

He said Al-Harthy's (IMN), "The Second Amendment to the investment law provided for the presidency of the parliament includes the ownership of the land to the foreign investor and not leased for 50 years, and older and that means selling the land of Iraq pretext bring investment companies."

He added that "the paragraph was based on the relevant committee for each of the state investment body and discussions of Economy and Finance Committees Alniabaten," noting that "the paragraph agreed to be passed into law by the relevant committees."

Al Harthy, pointed out that "the paragraph should clarify and demonstrate the negative consequences before the vote on the law in the House of Representatives."

The Commission on Economy and Investment in the House of Representatives earlier, its eagerness to offer amendments that accomplished in investment to the presidency of the Council Act.
