Basra address the prime minister formally to abolish the sales tax



Basra / Center Brief for the Iraqi Media Network (IMN) - Chairman of the Economics Committee of the Council of Basra province, Aqil al-Khalidi said that the President of the Council will deliver the morning Albzona Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi tomorrow in Baghdad a formal request on behalf of the provincial council to cancel the sales tax.

He said al-Khalidi's (IMN) "The head of the Basra Governorate Council will hold tomorrow a formal letter to the Prime Minister includes an appeal to cancel the decision to increase the sales tax until the implementation of the resolution to all of Iraq's ports, including the ports of Kurdistan."

Khalidi explained that "in the absence of the federal government in response to a request to cancel the sales tax increase, we will resort to issuing decisions, as we have issued on an earlier decision not to apply the tariff law in Basra."

Traders are demanding the abolition of the province of Basra in increased sales imposed by the Ministry of Finance tax on imported goods, which reach more than 15% for cars and construction materials.
