Masum announces launching reconciliation project after Eid

News / The President of the Republic , Fuad Masum has revealed the completion of the reconciliation project in the country to be submitted after Eid al-Adha.

Masum said in an interview with al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper that the debate about national reconciliation for the past ten years was just useless talk, it was more like the Byzantine controversy, pointing to the existence of an integrated project of reconciliation among Iraqi parties to be completed and expected to be submitted after Eid to have the concept of reconciliation with all internal groups and includes a comprehensive vision, especially after the subject has been limited to reconciliation of the three presidencies after it was distracted among several parties.

On the current situation in Iraq, President Masum said, "the current demonstrations in the country was necessary to awaken the politicians from their long slumber, taking into consideration the economic, security and political situation affecting the country, added to that the support of the religious Marjiyaa for these demonstrations, which granted considerable momentum."

Masum pointed out that Prime Minister, Haider al-Abadi "he did not consult with us but they were necessary to make reforms packages in order to achieve a comprehensive review of everything, especially that we are in a difficult situation, in the top is the threat posed by (ISIS) and its occupation of large areas of Iraq. "

Masum expressed his conviction that "This danger does not go away without genuine reconciliation among the political and popular circles in Iraq, for fact that (ISIS) has led to split the community as divisions have reached all places."
