He added that "al-Maliki is stronger than Abadi within the party," adding that "the Islamic Dawa Party is the weakest in the country in terms of popular support, and competencies within the party." He pointed out that "al-Maliki was based on the history of the march and the struggle of the party against Saddam's regime (former Iraqi President), but he was not able to act properly and the liquidation of the same hand." It is said that there is a struggle broke out between al-Maliki and al-Abadi my part within the Dawa Party, especially after the recent decision to cancel a major positions of vice-minister of the Republic and which targets Nuri al-Maliki on the grounds that he served as Vice President of the Republic.
